I would like to commend the Citizens’ Liberties Committee, led by the Committee Chairman, Mr. Nuhu Egya, Esq. and Mr. Deji Adeyanju, Esq. (Member of the Committee), for their critical intervention in Kano today. Their efforts successfully secured the release of seven ‘End Bad Governance’ protesters who had been unjustly detained since August. This intervention represents a significant step toward upholding justice and safeguarding the constitutional rights of citizens.
The Nigerian Bar Association @nigerianbar remains unwavering in its commitment to defending the rights of all Nigerians, ensuring that no individual is unlawfully detained or deprived of their freedom. We will continue to work tirelessly to protect civil liberties and promote justice across the nation.
Our work in Kano, as well as in other locations where ‘End Bad Governance’ protesters are being tried, is still ongoing, and we are committed to ensuring that no one is left behind.
Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN
President, Nigerian Bar Association
