A Loss to the Legal Profession – NBA Mourns Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Adeyeye

The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mazi Afam Osigwe SAN has described the death of the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye as a loss to the legal community.

In a statement on Tuesday, Osigwe stated that “the contributions of the late Chief Judge to the judiciary and to Ekiti State are immeasurable”.

Condolence Message from the President of the Nigerian Bar Association on the Passing of the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye

It is with profound sadness that the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) receives the news of the passing of Hon. Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, the esteemed Chief Judge of Ekiti State, who departed after a brief illness.

Justice Adeyeye’s illustrious career, marked by unwavering dedication to the rule of law and the principles of fairness, equity, and justice, leaves an indelible imprint on the legal community and the society at large. Called to the Nigerian Bar in 1986 and appointed Chief Judge of Ekiti State in October 2021, he exemplified the highest standards of judicial integrity and commitment to the service of his people.

The contributions of the late Chief Judge to the judiciary and to Ekiti State are immeasurable, and his leadership will be deeply missed. His departure is a great loss not only to the state he served but to the entire legal profession in Nigeria.

On behalf of the Nigerian Bar Association, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family of Hon. Justice Adeyeye, the Judiciary of Ekiti State, and the people of Ekiti. We stand in solidarity with you during this time of mourning and pray for the strength and grace to bear this great loss.
