The Nigerian Bar Association shall be having 16 days of activism against sexual and gender based violence and other human rights abuses, under the Human Rights institute with the theme
“ALL HUMAN BEINGS ARE BORN FREE AND EQUAL IN DIGNITY AND RIGHT “
The activities shall commence on 25/11/2024 and ends on 10/12/2024.
The Human Rights committee shall do the following:
- VISITATION. The committee shall visit the Inspector General of Police, The CG of Correctional Centre, the AG of the Fed & Minister of Justice, Minister of women Affairs, MINISTER of Humanitarian, FCT Minister, UNICEF, UNODC, ROLAC, NAPTIC, NHRC and the Nigerian Immigration. We shall officially write to them before the visit.
- The said program shall be merticulously observed by all branches of the NBA in the country who shall work collaboratively as a unit in all the 36 states. The 16th days activism shall on the 9th day of December, 2024 have a road walk to the National Assembly with beautiful T shirts and face caps.
- The Vice Chairmen of all the branches shall pilot the affairs and make sure that their branch and state people felt the impact of this year human rights week. They are to visit their state Comm. Of Police, AG of their states, CG of Prison of their states, Divisional Police Offices etc. They are also expected to be in ABUJA for the grand finale on the 10th of December for the branches that can afford to sponsor their Vice Chairmen to Abuja.
- On the grand finale, we will invite Human Rights activies to deliver lectures in NBA Secretariat. We shall entertain participants
