#NBA-HRI Strategic Planning Meeting: Shaping the Future of Human Rights in Nigeria

The Nigerian Bar Association-Human Rights Institute (NBA-HRI) held a strategic planning meeting on April 7, 2025, to chart a course for promoting and protecting human rights in Nigeria. The meeting aimed to develop a comprehensive plan to address the challenges facing the organization and achieve its objectives over the next three years.

Key Focus Areas

Constituency Building: Strengthening relationships with members, branches, and stakeholders to enhance effectiveness.

Research and Advocacy: Promoting awareness and influencing policy reforms through sensitization campaigns.

Training and Development: Providing technical development programs and resource frameworks for the Bar.

Conferencing and Awards: Organizing annual human rights conferences and awards.

Legal Assistance: Establishing a centralized information desk for human rights complaints ¹.

The NBA-HRI seeks to:

– Enhance its membership base and engagement

– Influence legal reforms and governmental policies

– Provide training and development programs for lawyers and stakeholders

– Promote human rights awareness and education
