The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has received a formal request from the Honourable Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, dated 26th May 2025, seeking the nomination of suitably qualified legal practitioners for consideration and recommendation for appointment to the Bench of the Federal High Court.
Available slots are designated for candidates from the following states: Abia, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Imo, Kaduna, Plateau, and Taraba.
Members of the NBA who are suitably qualified, interested, and hail from the aforementioned states are invited to submit their Expression of Interest to the National Secretariat of the NBA no later than June 19, 2025.

Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

Curriculum Vitae

Call to Bar Certificate

Evidence of Bar Practicing Fees (BPF) payment for the last 10 years

Evidence of NBA Branch Dues payment for the last 10 years

Evidence of attendance at NBA conferences

Evidence of membership in NBA Sections or Fora

Certified true copies of at least six (6) judgments in contested cases conducted in the last five years

Letter of good standing from the applicant’s Branch Chair, confirming compliance with Rule 4(4)(i)(a), (b), and (d) of the NJC Guidelines

Shortlisted candidates may be published for public comments and invited for screening interviews.
Applicants are also required to address and deliver a similar Expression of Interest to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court.
