Eminent jurist and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Babatunde Ogala, SAN, will preside as moderator over the session themed “Citizens’ Rights & Security Concerns” at the 2025 Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference.
Ogala, Principal Partner at Babatunde Ogala & Co. and former National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC), commands distinction in constitutional jurisprudence, electoral adjudication, and public interest litigation. His career reflects an unwavering fidelity to the defence of civil liberties and the rule of law.

The session will interrogate the intricate nexus between justice and security — dual imperatives upon which the architecture of any stable polity is anchored.
Within Nigeria’s prevailing climate of pervasive insecurity and diminished public confidence in judicial processes, the dialogue seeks to elucidate pathways for recalibrating the engagement between the legal profession and security institutions.
By convening distinguished stakeholders, the panel aspires to distil actionable reforms capable of reorienting the justice apparatus from a posture of perceived inertia to that of a proactive guarantor of peace, order, and the inviolability of citizens’ rights.
