Chief Harris Paul Ogbole SAN is a distinguished legal practitioner and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), elevated to the rank in 2019. He is the Principal Partner at P.H. Ogbole (SAN) & Co, a modern law firm based in Abuja.
A product of the University of Jos, Ogbole earned his LL.B. degree in 1988, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1989, and later completed an LL.M. at the University of Jos in 2008.
He commenced his legal journey as counsel under the National Youth Service Corps in the firm of Deji Sasegbon, SAN & Co., rising to become Head of Litigation and Deputy Editor. In 1995, he co-founded the law firm Suswam, Ogbole & Co., leading it until January 2019.
Demonstrating both legal acumen and public service commitment, Ogbole served as Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area in Benue State (2007–2008) and was a Board Member of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from 2008 to 2012.
He also contributed to legal reform and public enterprise oversight as a member of the Constitutional Drafting Review Committee and the Board of the Benue Investment and Property Company (2012–2015).
With over a decade on the National Executive Council of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ogbole has held leadership roles as Chairman of the National Planning Committee for NBA conferences, Co-Chair of the NBA Disciplinary Committee, Co-Chair of the NBA Anti-Corruption Committee, member of the NBA Legislative Support Committee, and others.
Outside his legal practice, he is a Notary Public, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC), and a member of its Governing Board. He also holds membership in the Body of Benchers, one of the highest legal governance institutions (blog.nigerianbar.org.ng).
Ogbole is currently pursuing doctoral research at the University of Jos and serves as legal advisor to Bullion Group Ltd.
At the 2025 Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference, Chief Harris Paul Ogbole SAN will address delegates on the topic “Owning in a Changed Environment: The increasing demand for land has led to complex issues surrounding land use and ownership, including disputes over rights and ownership.
As the country experiences growth and development, the demand for effective and efficient land administration, conveyance and probate services is increasing.” His session is scheduled for Monday, 25 August 2025.
