The 2025 Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference (NBA-AGC), currently holding in Enugu, will on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, host one of its most anticipated breakout sessions titled “Disruptive Artificial Intelligence: The Future of Nigeria’s Legal Landscape and Judicial Process in the 21st Century.”
The session will assemble a distinguished panel of thought leaders and innovators who are shaping the intersection of law, technology, and governance.
Hassana Barnabas-Agbada, Head of Commercial Operations & Legal Services at Union Systems Limited, brings her expertise in legal technology transformation and judiciary digitization. She has championed data protection compliance and pioneered case management innovations across state judiciaries.
Rotimi Ogunyemi, Partner at BOC Legal (Johnson & Wilner Alliance), is a foremost technology attorney, policy advisor, and governance expert. With vast contributions to the NBA on digital innovation and electoral reforms, he provides thought leadership on AI policy, cybersecurity, and digital governance at both national and global levels.
Mr. Ikechukwu Uwanna, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Abia State, and incoming Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), will contribute insights from his broad experience in dispute resolution, judicial reform, and governance. His active involvement in legal education, transparency, and institutional reforms adds a vital perspective to the AI discourse.
Obele Akinniranye, a scholar and legal technology expert, is pursuing a PhD on legal risks in autonomous vehicles in Europe. She lectures in Ireland and Nigeria, specializing in AI governance, robotics law, and legal technology, equipping the next generation of lawyers for the digital era.
Agbo Obinnaya Godson, Founder and CEO of Case Radar, Africa’s first generative AI legal tech platform, is a pioneer in democratizing legal knowledge through technology. His entrepreneurial ventures in blockchain, Web3, and AI-driven law place him at the forefront of legal innovation in Africa.
The session’s keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Charles Omole, renowned jurist, security policy expert, and legal scholar. With a PhD in International Law and Security Sector Jurisprudence, and experience as a former London judge and national security adviser, Dr. Omole will speak on how AI is transforming judicial integrity, legal systems, and security governance.
This breakout session will explore how disruptive AI is reshaping legal research, document drafting, and case management, while examining its implications for pedagogy, curriculum design, professional ethics, and the future of legal education.
