Nigeria stands at the brink of one of its most comprehensive tax reforms in decades, and the Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference (NBA-AGC) 2025 has created a platform to interrogate its implications.
The breakout session themed “Unbundling Tax Reforms” will take place today, Monday, 25th August 2025, from 3:00PM to 4:30PM, bringing together distinguished experts and practitioners to unpack the far-reaching scope of the ongoing fiscal overhaul.

Panelists include:
- Mr. Tony Ejinkeonye, CEO of Lee Nigeria Ltd., past President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a chartered accountant with vast business leadership experience.
- Bolanle Hajara Oniyangi (LL.B, B.L, LL.M, FCIT), Director of Litigation & Prosecution at FIRS, is a seasoned lawyer with over 30 years’ experience in tax justice and enforcement.
- Mr Mathew Olusanya Gbonjubola, renowned international tax expert, former FIRS Coordinating Director, and Co-Chair of the UN Tax Committee, was listed among the World’s Top 50 Tax Persons in 2022.
- Michael Ango, Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT-IRS, lawyer, tax practitioner, and former member of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms.
- Etigwe Uwa, SAN, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and litigation authority in tax, commercial, and aviation law.
The session will provide lawyers, policymakers, and business leaders with a rare opportunity to critically examine how these reforms will reshape fiscal governance, enforcement, and compliance in Nigeria, with direct consequences for corporate entities, small businesses, and citizens alike.
