Lawyers from across Nigeria gathered at the New Shepherd Anglican Church, Achi, Enugu State, for a thanksgiving service to celebrate the successful 2025 Annual General Conference (AGC) of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). The service provided a moment for reflection, gratitude, and spiritual renewal among members.
The theme of the service was “Working Together,” highlighting unity, collaboration, and collective purpose as central to the blessings of God. Drawing on scriptures, the congregation reflected on the importance of togetherness:
- Matthew 18 emphasised reconciliation and cooperation as foundations for harmony.
- Genesis 1 illustrated that working together is essential to fulfilling God’s plans for the generation.
- John 17 reminded members that God honours hearts aligned in unity and purpose.
- Psalm 133:1 reinforced that blessings flow when brethren dwell together in unity, resonating with the AGC 2025 theme, “Stand Out, Stand Tall.”
- Acts 2:42 and Ephesians 4:3 encouraged fellowship, peace, and harmonious collaboration.
During the service, the NBA President addressed attendees, noting that the success of AGC 2025 was a reflection of dedication, unity, and the collective efforts of lawyers across the country.
He urged members to continue working together in their professional and personal lives, emphasizing that unity strengthens the Bar and amplifies its impact on justice and society.
A goodwill message was sent to conferees through the Archbishop of the Archdiocese, who prayed for divine protection for members, guidance in their professional pursuits, and blessings for the continued growth of the Nigerian Bar Association.
The Archbishop also wished all members safe travels and encouraged them to uphold unity, integrity, and collaboration in all aspects of their work.
The Thanksgiving service concluded with prayers for continued success for the NBA, reinforcing the importance of standing out and standing tall together in service to justice, professionalism, and the nation.
