Update on the Corporate Affairs Commission’s New AI-Powered Intelligent Company Registration Portal (ICRP)

Dear Colleagues,

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) wishes to inform you that the Secretariat has received a letter from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) dated 26th August 2025. The letter provides an update on the recently deployed AI-powered Intelligent Company Registration Portal (ICRP) and acknowledges the challenges many of our members have experienced in using the new system.

The CAC explained that the ICRP was introduced to replace the old Company Registration Portal (CRP), which only captured about 30% of its services and was unable to adequately support the Commission’s growth.

The CAC, however, admitted that the transition has caused inconveniences and assured that steps are being taken to stabilize the system. Members may note the following key points from the update:

Backend Restored – CAC reports that its backend systems have now been restored.

Clearing of Backlog – Staff have been mandated to clear all pending requests within one week, with many volunteering to work weekends to ensure queues are cleared.

Emergency Desk – A dedicated helpdesk has been set up at the Office of the Special Adviser to the Registrar-General for urgent complaints. Members can reach the desk via: stakeholderscomplaints@cac.gov.ng

Timeline for Stabilization – CAC projects that by 7th September 2025, the portal will achieve 95% stabilization, with full optimization and expansion to follow in phases over the next six months.

The NBA appreciates the assurances given by the Registrar-General/CEO, Ishaq Hussaini Magaji, SAN, and will continue to actively engage with the CAC to ensure that the concerns of our members are promptly addressed.

We encourage members who encounter persistent difficulties with the portal to make use of the dedicated helpdesk and to keep records of such challenges for proper follow-up.

The NBA remains committed to protecting the professional and business interests of our members while advocating for efficient, transparent, and user-friendly public service systems in Nigeria.

Thank you.
