The Nigerian Bar Association Institute of Continuing Legal Education (NBA-ICLE), in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Justice (FMOJ), has commenced a three-day Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) training, Batch Two for legal officers of the Ministry.
The programme, themed “Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Programme for Legal Officers in the Federal Ministry of Justice,” runs from Monday, 10 November to Wednesday, 12 November 2025, on the second floor, Nigerian Bar Association National Secretariat, Muhammadu Buhari Expressway, Central Business District, Abuja.
The training is designed to strengthen the professional capacity, ethical practice, and operational effectiveness of legal officers across the Ministry. Facilitators for the programme are Festus Emiri and Sarah Omega, who will lead interactive sessions and practical activities across the three days.

Programme Outline (Daily Highlights)
Day 1 — Monday, 10 November 2025
- 08:00 – 09:00: Registration.
- 09:00 – 10:00: Introduction, ground rules and tea. Sessions include: welcome and national anthem (5 minutes); opening remarks (10 minutes); overview of training objectives and expectations (15 minutes); participant introductions (15 minutes); ice-breaker activity (10 minutes); setting ground rules (20 minutes); tea break (15 minutes).

Day 2 — Tuesday, 11 November 2025
- 08:00 – 09:00: Registration.
- 09:00 – 10:00: Methodology and activities with recap and reflections. Sessions include a tea break, an energizer activity, sharing of Day 1 insights, expectations for Day 2 and informal networking.

Day 3 — Wednesday, 12 November 2025
- 08:00 – 09:00: Registration.
- 09:00 – 10:00: Recap of Day 2 (15 minutes); energizer — “Two truths & a myth in law” (15 minutes); setting goals for the final day (30 minutes); introduction and reflection.

Purpose and Expected Outcomes
The CLE programme aims to:
- Enhance practical skills and ethical awareness among FMOJ legal officers.
- Provide a platform for peer learning, reflection and the exchange of best practices.
- Equip participants with methodologies for improved case handling, legal drafting, and internal collaboration.
- Foster networks for continued professional dialogue between the NBA-ICLE and the Federal Ministry of Justice.
