President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, has lauded the Hon. Chief Judge of Edo State, Hon. Justice Daniel Iyobosa Okungbowa, for hosting members of the NBA National Executive Council to a warm and distinguished Cocktail Reception in Benin City.
The event, held yesterday as part of activities marking the NBA National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting, brought together eminent members of both the Bar and the Bench in a convivial atmosphere that highlighted the mutual respect and partnership essential to the nation’s justice system.
Speaking at the reception, the President expressed profound appreciation to the judiciary for the honour and hospitality extended to the NBA.
He emphasized that such gestures reinforce the longstanding bond between the Bar and the Bench, noting that collaboration remains indispensable to building a justice system that is strong, credible, and responsive to the needs of society.
He reaffirmed the NBA’s unwavering commitment to strengthening Bar–Bench synergy, adding that purposeful engagement and cooperation between both arms of the justice sector will continue to advance fairness, accountability, and the rule of law in Nigeria.
