The Nigerian Bar Association Human Rights Institute (NBA-HRI) is set to commemorate the 2025 International Human Rights Day with a national event themed “Human Rights: Our Everyday Essential.”
Scheduled for 10th December 2025 at the NBA Auditorium, NBA House, Muhammadu Buhari Way, CBD Abuja, the programme underscores the NBA’s commitment to advancing human rights, national security, and democratic ideals.
This year’s sub-theme, “Security, A Necessity for the Growth of Our Nation, Nigeria,” highlights the critical intersection between human rights and national development.
NBA President and Host, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, will lead the event, which will feature a keynote address by renowned human rights advocate, Femi Falana, SAN.
The Governing Board of the NBA Human Rights Institute, comprising Barr. Sebastine Anyia (1st Vice President and Chairman), Barr. Bolatumi Animashaun (2nd Vice President and Alternate Chairman), and Barr. Zainab Aminu Garba (3rd Vice President and Secretary), will also play key roles in the day’s proceedings.
The commemoration promises robust conversations on safeguarding rights, strengthening institutions, and protecting Nigeria’s democratic future.
