The Nigerian Bar Association Human Rights Institute has announced renowned human rights advocate, Femi Falana, SAN, as the Keynote Speaker for the 2025 International Human Rights Day commemoration scheduled for 10th December 2025 in Abuja.
Falana, widely respected for his decades-long commitment to justice, constitutional rights, and public interest litigation, will lead discussions around this year’s theme, “Human Rights: Our Everyday Essential.”
His keynote address is expected to provoke deep national reflection on the role of rights in daily governance, citizenship, and Nigeria’s democratic journey.

The event, which will be chaired by Hon. Justice Muhammad Dattijo, JSC (Rtd.), will also explore the sub-theme, “Security, a Necessity for the Growth of Our Nation, Nigeria.”
This focus reflects the NBA’s ongoing commitment to addressing the urgent intersections between safety, development, and the protection of fundamental freedoms.
Taking place at the NBA Auditorium, NBA House, Muhammadu Buhari Way, CBD Abuja, the commemoration will convene legal minds, policymakers, civil society leaders, and human rights defenders for a profound engagement on strengthening human rights culture in Nigeria.
