The Nigerian Bar Association has formally unveiled the Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, NBA Co-Working Space for Young Lawyers, a landmark welfare initiative conceived to promote structured learning, professional collaboration, and institutional support for the next generation of legal practitioners.
The facility, generously sponsored by the Chairman of the NBA National Welfare Committee, Chief James Onoja, SAN, and facilitated by the NBA National Welfare Secretary, Auta Nyada, was commissioned at a luncheon ceremony attended by members of the Bar and key stakeholders in the legal profession. The Co-Working Space was formally named in honour of Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, in recognition of his longstanding investment in the development of lawyers and his immeasurable contributions to the Nigerian legal profession. The formal unveiling was conducted by the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN.
The initiative also publicly affirms the shared professional philosophy of Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, and Chief James Onoja, SAN, whose careers exemplify a sustained commitment to mentorship, capacity building, and deliberate investment in the growth of young lawyers. By dedicating this facility to structured professional support, the Nigerian Bar Association recognises their collective role in advancing a culture in which professional excellence is nurtured through guidance, institutional support, and intergenerational transfer of knowledge and values.
In his remarks, the NBA President reaffirmed that the project gives practical expression to one of his core campaign commitments and reflects the Association’s strategic focus on the continuous development, welfare, and professional integration of young lawyers.
The Co-Working Space is intended to function not merely as a physical facility but as a collaborative ecosystem that supports mentorship, skills development, innovation, and peer-to-peer engagement within the profession.
