The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on Monday commenced an eventful and highly engaging week of activities, beginning with the launch of a book in honour of its President, Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe, SAN.

The book launch, which held on 2nd February 2026, was well attended by national officers of the Association, past national officers, Senior Advocates of Nigeria, and distinguished members of the legal profession from across the country. The occasion was chaired by a former President of the Association, Augustine Alegeh, SAN. The book was extensively reviewed before its formal unveiling, marking a significant moment of reflection on leadership and service within the Bar.

Following the book launch, attention shifted to Maiduguri, Borno State, as statutory members and national officers converged for the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting. Members of the National Executive Council arrived in Maiduguri on Tuesday, February 3, to a warm and well-coordinated reception.

From the airport reception to the dinner hosted later in the evening, participants described the hospitality as exceptional and homely, complemented by pleasant weather and meticulous planning by the host branch.

Activities continued on Wednesday, February 4, with the hosting of the Young Lawyers Forum (YLF) Summit, which recorded a strong turnout. The summit attracted the NBA President and members of the National Executive Committee, alongside notable personalities including Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan, SAN, who attended as a special guest.

The YLF Summit was chaired by the Chief Judge of Borno State, Hon. Justice Kashim Zanna, OFR, widely regarded for his commitment to judicial innovation and information and communication technology (ICT) compliance.

The Welcome Cocktail will take place this evening, 4th February 2026 at the High Court Complex, Maiduguri, while the NEC meeting is scheduled to hold tomorrow, 5th February, 2026 at 9:00am prompt.
