NBA-ICLE Partners NCDMB to Launch Two-Day Intensive Practical Local Content Training in Yenagoa

Dear Colleagues,

The Nigerian Bar Association Institute of Continuing Legal Education (NBA-ICLE), in collaboration with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), is set to commence a highly anticipated and impactful training programme on Local Content Law and regulatory compliance in Yenagoa.

Scheduled to hold on Friday, 20th, and Saturday, 21st, the two-day intensive programme is designed to strengthen the capacity of legal practitioners, regulatory officers, and key stakeholders operating within Nigeria’s energy and oil and gas sectors. The training underscores the NBA’s unwavering commitment to equipping lawyers with practical, industry-relevant knowledge that enhances professional competence and supports national development.

The programme will be delivered by distinguished members of the NBA-ICLE Board, led by the Board Chairman, Festus Emiri, whose wealth of experience and industry insight promise to provide participants with a rich blend of academic depth and real-world application. The sessions will feature interactive engagements, case studies, and scenario-based discussions tailored to reflect contemporary challenges in local content compliance and energy sector governance.

As local content regulations continue to evolve, the role of lawyers remains critical in ensuring regulatory compliance, advising corporate entities, drafting enforceable agreements, and promoting transparency and accountability within strategic sectors of the economy. This training therefore represents more than professional development; it is a strategic investment in institutional capacity and sustainable economic growth.

The collaboration between NBA-ICLE and NCDMB highlights a shared vision of advancing continuous legal education and reinforcing the standards of legal practice in Nigeria. A well-trained and forward-thinking legal profession remains indispensable to the nation’s progress.

The NBA encourages interested practitioners and stakeholders to take advantage of this unique learning opportunity as we continue to strengthen the knowledge base and professional excellence of the Bar.
