The Nigerian Bar Association, Calabar Branch (Doyen Bar), on the 26th day of February, 2026, organized a comprehensive professional training session aimed at strengthening digital innovation and enhancing professional integrity within the legal profession.
Speaking during the session, the Chairman of the NBA, Calabar Branch, Enome Amatey, Esq. highlighted that the adoption of the NBA Digital Stamp is a critical step toward eliminating quackery in the legal profession, safeguarding the authenticity of legal documents, and reinforcing public trust in the Bar. He urged practitioners to embrace the innovation as part of ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening professional standards and integrity.
The training which was anchored by Mr. Terem Inyambe, the Chairman of the ICT Committee of the Doyen Bar, featured an in-depth practical session on the application of the Nigerian Bar Association Digital Stamp.
In addition, the Doyen Bar conducted a training on an online notarization platform designed to simplify and modernize the notarization process. This session was facilitated by the founder of Naija Virtual Notary, Daniel Kip, Esq. He explained that the Naija Virtual Notary was developed to ease the notarization of documents through a secure online platform, enabling legal practitioners to provide efficient and accessible notarial services. He underscored the importance of leveraging technology to meet evolving client needs and align Nigerian legal practice with global standards.
Participants expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Doyen Bar for organizing timely and forward-looking capacity-building initiatives aimed at advancing the legal profession in Calabar and beyond.
