Celebrating Eid, Preserving Unity: A Message to the Bar -By Dr. Mobolaji Ojibara

As the month of Ramadan comes to a close and we celebrate Eid el-Fitr, I extend warm felicitations to all our Muslim colleagues on the successful completion of this period of discipline, reflection, and renewal.

Ramadan offers an opportunity to cultivate values that resonate deeply within our profession—self-restraint, integrity, empathy, and a heightened sense of responsibility. These are virtues that not only enrich personal character but also strengthen our collective commitment to justice, fairness, and ethical practice. Eid el-Fitr, in this regard, marks not just the end of a sacred observance, but the continuation of these enduring values in our daily lives and professional engagements.

As we celebrate, we are also mindful that we are in an election year within our Association. This period calls for maturity, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to the unity of the Bar. While differing views and aspirations are natural in any democratic process, they must be expressed with decorum, civility, and a deep sense of responsibility to the institution we all serve.

The strength of our Association lies in its cohesion. Let us, therefore, ensure that our engagements—before, during, and after the elections—reflect the highest standards of professionalism, respect, and collegiality. I encourage all members to draw from the discipline and reflection of the past month in fostering peaceful interactions, constructive dialogue, and a renewed sense of purpose within the Bar.

Once again, I congratulate all our Muslim colleagues and wish you a peaceful and fulfilling Eid celebration.

Eid Mubarak!
