Evolving Legal Practice: NBA President Urges Nigerian Lawyers to Align With Global Standards at NBA-SLP 2026 Conference 

The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN on Monday urged Nigerian Lawyers to Align With Global Standards.

Osigwe was represented by the 1st Vice President, Mr. Sabastine Anyia, at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Conference of the NBA Section on Legal Practice (NBA-SLP), themed “Evolving Trends: Nigerian Legal Practice, Global Perspective.”

Delivering the President’s goodwill message, Mr. Anya conveyed the NBA President’s warm greetings to the leadership and members of the Section and commended the NBA-SLP for its consistent role in advancing professional development and promoting excellence in legal service delivery. The President noted that the conference theme aptly reflects the rapid transformation in legal practice driven by technology, cross-border transactions, emerging practice areas, and evolving regulatory frameworks.

He emphasized the importance of equipping Nigerian lawyers with the skills required to remain competitive within the global legal ecosystem, while also reinforcing the core values of integrity, competence, innovation, and service. The President expressed confidence that the conference would generate practical insights, foster meaningful partnerships, and inspire new approaches to legal practice.

The event also featured the official launch of the NBA-SLP Law Firm Directory, a significant initiative aimed at strengthening visibility, collaboration, and professional networking among law firms.

The Nigerian Bar Association congratulates the NBA Section on Legal Practice for organizing a successful conference and wishes participants fruitful deliberations and impactful outcomes.
