The Nigerian Bar Association, Birnin Kebbi Branch (Equity Bar), is setting the tone for a bold conversation at its Law Week 2026

As part of the lineup, the Branch will host a dedicated 2nd Panel Session focused on the real barriers women face in legal practice and leadership.

Mentorship or Sponsorship? Why Having a Mentor is Not Enough and Why Women Specifically Need Sponsors Who Advocate for Them in Closed-Door Meetings

While mentorship gives advice, sponsorship opens doors. This session will unpack why women in law need powerful voices that don’t just guide them, but actively push for their elevation in rooms where decisions are made.
