The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Birnin Kebbi Branch (Equity Bar), will continue its 2026 Law Week activities with a thought-provoking second panel session focused on the role of mentorship and sponsorship in advancing women within the legal profession.
Scheduled for 9 June 2026 at 12:00 noon at Saffar Guest Inn Ltd, Gesse Phase II, Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, the session is themed: “Mentorship or Sponsorship? Why Having a Mentor Is Not Enough and Why Women Specifically Need Sponsors Who Advocate for Them in Closed-Door Meetings.”
The panel will bring together distinguished female legal practitioners and thought leaders to examine the limitations of mentorship alone and the importance of sponsorship in creating opportunities for women in leadership and decision-making spaces.
The discussion is expected to generate practical insights on career progression, professional visibility, and strategies for fostering greater inclusion and representation of women in the legal profession.
The session forms part of the NBA Birnin Kebbi Branch’s broader Law Week programme aimed at addressing contemporary issues affecting the legal community while promoting professional development and meaningful dialogue among practitioners.
