The Caretaker Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Abuja Branch has announced the postponement of the forthcoming Branch election following a closed-door meeting with all principal aspirants and the Electoral Committee.
According to the Committee, the decision became necessary after deliberations on issues arising from the electoral process. A new date for the election will be communicated to members of the Branch in due course.
The Committee has assured members that all concerns presented are receiving the attention they deserve in the overall interest of the Branch and the Bar. It has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a credible, transparent, and acceptable election as soon as possible.
Members have been urged to remain calm, patient, and united while efforts continue to achieve a process that reflects the highest ideals of the legal profession.
The Committee also expressed confidence that, at the conclusion of the process, the Unity Bar will emerge stronger and more united.
