The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja Branch (Unity Bar), has announced a bye-election to fill the vacant offices of Provost and Financial Secretary.
According to the notice signed by the Secretary of the Electoral Committee, Auta Nyada, nomination forms will be available for collection and purchase at the Branch Secretariat from Tuesday, 11 August 2026, at a cost of ₦150,000.
ELIGIBILITY
Interested candidates must have fully paid their Branch dues and Bar Practising Fees for 2023, 2024 and 2025.
The Committee further stated that only members whose names appear on the already published Voters’ List are eligible to contest. Any intending candidate whose name is absent from the list stands automatically disqualified.

- Tuesday, 11 August 2026
- Sale of Nomination Forms — 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- Screening and Publication of Candidates — 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Wednesday-Thursday
- Campaigns: Until midnight on Thursday
- Friday
- Election: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
Members of the Unity Bar have been urged to take note of the timetable and be guided accordingly.
