The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, FCIArb (UK), has congratulated the Dangote Group on its Initial Public Offering (IPO), describing it as a significant milestone for Nigeria’s capital market and a boost to investor confidence in the Nigerian economy.
Badejo-Okusanya commended the Group for its sustained contribution to Nigeria’s economic development through investment, enterprise, job creation and the expansion of productive capacity across key sectors.
She said the success of businesses that invest for the long term is vital to building a stronger, more resilient and competitive Nigerian economy.
“Nigeria’s economic transformation will not be driven by government alone. It requires businesses willing to invest, innovate, create jobs and build for the future. Our role as lawyers is to help create and sustain the legal and institutional environment in which such enterprise can thrive.”
The NBA President reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to promoting the rule of law and an enabling business environment that encourages legitimate investment, strengthens regulatory confidence and protects commercial interests.
She stressed that lawyers have a critical role in facilitating economic growth by providing sound legal frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance and creating the certainty and confidence required by businesses and investors.
Badejo-Okusanya congratulated the management, employees, investors and stakeholders of the Dangote Group, wishing the company continued success in its contribution to Nigeria’s industrial and economic development.
