GOODWILL MESSAGE BY THE CHAIRPERSON, NIGERIAN BAR ASSOCIATION WOMEN’S FORUM (NBAWF), AT THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN JUDGES OF NIGERIA (NAWJN) CONFERENCE 2026

Theme: “Promoting Excellence in the Administration of Justice”

Protocols.

It is with great pleasure and a profound sense of respect that i extend warm greetings and best wishes on behalf of the Nigerian Bar Association Women’s Forum (NBAWF) to the National Association of Women Judges of Nigeria as my Lordships convene this important Conference on the theme, “Promoting Excellence in the Administration of Justice.”

I commend the leadership and members of the Association for their unwavering commitment to strengthening the justice sector and advancing the ideals of fairness, integrity, and judicial excellence. The choice of this theme is both timely and significant, as the pursuit of excellence remains the cornerstone of a justice system that inspires public confidence and upholds the rule of law.

Women Judges in Nigeria have continued to distinguish themselves through diligence, courage, and professionalism. Across our courts, they have demonstrated that judicial excellence is not merely measured by legal knowledge, but also by impartiality, integrity, compassion, and an enduring commitment to justice.

My Lordships contributions have not only enriched our jurisprudence but have also inspired generations of women within the legal profession to aspire to leadership and service.

As women in law, we occupy different but complementary positions within the justice sector. While judges interpret and apply the law, lawyers serve as advocates and officers of the court.

Together, we share the collective responsibility of ensuring that justice remains accessible, efficient, and responsive to the needs of society. The partnership between the Bench and the Bar is therefore indispensable to the continued strengthening of our legal system.

The NBAWF remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote professional excellence, ethical leadership, mentorship, and greater opportunities for women across the legal profession. We firmly believe that when women are empowered to lead and excel, the entire justice system benefits.

As my Lordships deliberate on the critical issues before this Conference, I am confident that the discussions and resolutions reached will further advance the administration of justice in Nigeria and contribute meaningfully to the development of our legal institutions.

On behalf of the NBAWF, I congratulate the National Association of Women Judges of Nigeria on this remarkable gathering and wish my Lordships a successful and impactful Conference.

Thank you.
