NBA President Calls for Visionary Thinking to Unlock Nigeria’s Economic Potential at MULAN Conference

The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, attended the Annual Conference of the Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria (MULAN) in Kano, where he congratulated the Association on the successful hosting of the conference and commended its enduring contributions to the legal profession.

The NBA President expressed profound appreciation to MULAN for its unwavering support since the inception of his administration, describing the Association as a trusted partner in advancing the vision and objectives of the Nigerian Bar Association.

Addressing the conference on the theme, “National Halal Strategy: A Vehicle for Economic Advancement and Sustainable Development in Nigeria,” Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, emphasized that Nigeria must intentionally broaden its economic horizon by embracing emerging sectors with immense potential to drive inclusive growth, innovation, and sustainable national development.

He observed that the country is richly endowed with exceptional local talent and untapped opportunities, urging policymakers, professionals, and investors to harness these strengths by promoting indigenous enterprise and creating an enabling environment for innovation to thrive. According to him, meaningful economic transformation will be driven by a deliberate commitment to supporting homegrown capacity while exploring new frontiers for national prosperity.

The NBA President further expressed confidence that the conference would go beyond robust discussions to generate practical ideas and actionable solutions that would reinforce the legal profession’s role in advancing economic development and nation-building.

He concluded by wishing MULAN a successful conference and reaffirmed the Nigerian Bar Association’s commitment to supporting initiatives that foster economic growth, professional excellence, and sustainable societal development through the instrumentality of the law.
