The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) has expressed profound appreciation to all candidates, members, and stakeholders who participated in the Candidates’ Debate and Manifesto Day held on Wednesday, 8 July 2026, at the NBA National Headquarters, Abuja.
In a notice issued today, Thursday July 9th 2026, the Committee described the event as a resounding success, noting that the remarkable turnout and orderly conduct of participants reflected the Nigerian Bar Association’s unwavering commitment to a credible, transparent, and inclusive electoral process.
The Committee particularly commended the candidates for their professionalism and issue-based engagement, while applauding members of the Bar for the decorum displayed throughout the proceedings.

Final Deadline for Voters Register Updates
The ECNBA also issues an urgent reminder that today, Thursday, 9 July 2026, is the final deadline for all corrections, updates, and complaints relating to the Preliminary Voters Register.
According to the Committee, all update requests will close at exactly 11:59 p.m. (WAT), after which the Register will be cleaned, finalized, and permanently frozen. No further additions, deletions, or amendments will be entertained thereafter.
Eligible members are therefore urged to act immediately by:
Verifying that their names appear on the Preliminary Voters Register on the ECNBA website.
Confirming that their registered email addresses and telephone numbers are accurate, as voting authentication codes (OTPs) will be sent to those details on Election Day.
Promptly updating incorrect contact information through the ECNBA self-service portal or contacting the ECNBA Support Desk for corrections relating to names, branches, or Supreme Court Numbers (SCNs).
The Committee further encouraged members to draw the attention of colleagues who may not have verified their details, stressing that no action can be taken once the deadline expires.
Next Electoral Milestones
Following the close of updates tonight:
- Friday, 10 July 2026: Publication of the Final Voters Register and final freeze of the Register.
- Saturday, 18 July 2026: Election Day. Voting opens at 12:00 a.m. WAT and closes at 11:59 p.m. WAT.
Reaffirming its commitment to delivering a free, fair, transparent, and credible election, the ECNBA urged every eligible member to ensure that their voting information is accurate before the midnight deadline, emphasizing that the opportunity to make corrections expires tonight.
