The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Abuja Branch (Unity Bar) has issued a crucial pre-election notice to all members, announcing the official close of campaigns and outlining mandatory guidelines ahead of the 2026 Branch Elections.
In a notice signed by the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, Steve Emelieze, Esq., and the Secretary, Auta Nyada, all campaign activities are to end promptly at 12:00 midnight on Thursday, July 30, 2026, marking the commencement of the election silence period.
The Committee directed every contestant participating in the forthcoming election to submit the names of two agents, who will serve as election observers, to the Caretaker Committee Secretary on or before 11:00 p.m. today, July 30, 2026.
To ensure a smooth accreditation process, members intending to vote are required to come with a valid means of identification, either in hard copy or digital format.
Voters have also been strongly advised to note their serial numbers as contained in the official voters’ register for easy verification at the polling venue.
The Committee further confirmed that voting will commence precisely at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, while candidates’ agents are expected to arrive by 8:30 a.m. to complete necessary pre-election formalities.
As the countdown to the polls enters its final hours, the Caretaker Committee urged all members to comply fully with the electoral guidelines and contribute to a peaceful, orderly, and credible election worthy of the reputation of the Unity Bar.
The notice represents the final official communication before members converge to elect a new leadership for one of the Nigerian Bar Association’s most strategic branches.
