Easter Message: NBA President Calls for Renewed Commitment to Justice and Rule of Law

Dear Colleagues,

Easter is a season that speaks gently yet powerfully to the human spirit. It reminds us that even after the darkest nights, dawn still breaks; that hope can rise where despair once lingered; and that life, in all its fullness, ultimately triumphs. In a world often weighed down by uncertainty and hardship, the message of Easter reassures us that renewal is always possible and that faith can light the path forward.

This sacred season invites us to reflect on sacrifice, courage, and unwavering faith, virtues that lie at the heart of our calling as legal practitioners. As defenders of justice and custodians of the rule of law, we are daily confronted with the realities of human struggle and the urgent need for fairness, compassion, and accountability. This period calls us to recommit ourselves to these ideals, and to continue standing firmly for justice, even when the path is difficult.

As members of the Bar, we are also called to be voices of calm in turbulent times, bridges where there are divisions, and instruments of peace in our communities. The promise of Easter, of new beginnings, encourages us to renew our dedication to professional integrity, selfless service, and the strengthening of our Association as a beacon of hope and leadership.

This season also reminds us to look beyond ourselves and reach out with compassion. Let us extend kindness to the vulnerable, support to the weary, and encouragement to those who may be struggling. Small acts of love and understanding, inspired by the spirit of Easter, can help heal wounds, restore hope, and bring us closer to the just and peaceful society we all desire.

May the joy of the Resurrection fill our hearts with renewed strength, deepen our sense of purpose, and inspire us to continue working together for a better Bar and a better Nigeria.

I wish you and your loved ones a blessed, joyful, and peaceful Easter.

Happy Easter!
