The 2026 Doyen Bar Week came to a grand and fulfilling conclusion on Sunday, 19th April 2026, with the thanksgiving mass at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Ikot Ansa, Calabar marking the end of a week-long series of impactful, engaging, and socially enriching activities that reflected the unity and strength of its members.
The highly anticipated annual event commenced with a vibrant city walk, drawing participation from members who demonstrated both the Spirit of togetherness and a shared sense of purpose.
This was closely followed by a well attended legal clinic, through which members provided essential legal services to the public, reaffirming the Bar’s commitment to justice and community service.
The atmosphere transitioned into a lively networking session during the cocktail party, setting the tone for subsequent intellectual engagements.
Throughout the week, participants were treated to a series of thought provoking lectures and panel discussions led by seasoned professionals, addressing contemporary issues within the legal profession and beyond.
A major highlight of the week was the Bar–Bench Forum, which fostered meaningful dialogue between legal practitioners and members of the judiciary, strengthening professional relationships and enhancing mutual understanding. The novelty football match added a touch of recreation, promoting teamwork and relaxation among members.
