The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) led by Mazi Afam Osigwe SAN, alongside the entire Executive Committee joined the Warri Bar Leader, Albert Akpomudje SAN, in celebrating his 70th birthday on Sunday. The event marked a milestone for Akpomudje, a seasoned legal practitioner with over 39 years of competitive experience.
The celebration began with a warm reception by the celebrant, who welcomed the NBA delegation in the traditional Warri style, showcasing the cultural heritage of the region.
Akpomudje SAN, known for his exceptional contributions to the legal profession, expressed immense joy and gratitude as he welcomed the NBA leadership to Warri. His career, spanning nearly four decades, has been marked by diligence, professionalism, and a commitment to advancing the rule of law in Nigeria. The presence of the NBA’s leadership at his milestone celebration was a testament to his enduring legacy and influence. The entourage included the Chairman of the Annual General Conference, Chief Emeka Obegolu SAN, Alternate Chair, Sammie Somiari, SAN among others.
The EXCO proceeded to attend the Warri branch’s monthly meeting. The surprise visit was met with enthusiasm by branch members, who seized the opportunity to engage with the new NBA leadership. During the meeting, members outlined their expectations from the newly inaugurated EXCO, emphasizing the need for inclusivity, support for local branches, and greater representation in NBA activities.
In his address, Mazi Osigwe thanked the branch for their warm welcome and assured them of his administration’s commitment to fostering collaboration and addressing the concerns of all branches nationwide.
Chief Emeka Obegolu SAN also addressed the branch, encouraging members to take advantage of the early bird registration for the upcoming NBA Annual General Conference. He emphasized the importance of active branch participation in next year’s Conference, scheduled to take place in Port Harcourt.
