Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, FCIArb(UK), FCIMC, Life Bencher to Speak at NBA Annual General Conference

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has announced that Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, FCIArb (UK), FCIMC, Life Bencher, will be one of the distinguished speakers at its Annual General Conference, holding in Enugu State on August 25, 2025. He will deliver insights on the topic “Nigerian Bar Association: A Peep into the Future.”

Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, was born to the family of Late Senator (Chief) Ademola Hezekiah Akinboro and Late Chief Mrs. Hannah Adefunke Akinboro of Kuta Kingdom in Aiyedire L.G.A of Osun State on 21st November, 1965.

He attended Lagos State University (LASU), where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree with Honours in 1990. He graduated from the Nigerian Law School and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991. He began his legal career in several reputable establishments, including the Plateau State Ministry of Justice, Femi Lanlehin & Co., and Adetokunbo Kayode (SAN) & Co.

Today, he is the Principal Partner of Akinboro & Co., a leading law firm he founded in 1996 with its principal office in Abuja – FCT and branch offices in Lagos and Port Harcourt. He is a Harvard University-trained negotiator, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC), and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

His national service record is extensive, including membership of the FCT Judicial Service Committee, FCT Land Use Allocation Committee, Governing Council of the University of Benin, Federal Judicial Service Commission, Abuja Chamber of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture (ABUCCIMA), and Chairman of the FCT Judicial Service Committee Personnel Management Board, among others.

Within the NBA, Aare Akinboro has served as Secretary and Chairman of the Abuja Branch, Past General Secretary of the NBA, Life Member of the National Executive Committee, and Member of the General Council of the Bar. As a Life Bencher, he holds lifetime membership in the Body of Benchers – the highest decision-making body in Nigeria’s legal profession. He also serves on the boards of several companies.

A philanthropist and humanitarian, he has generously supported humanitarian causes across Nigeria, with a passion for protecting and uplifting the less privileged. His community honoured him with the chieftaincy title of Aare Bamofin of Kuta Kingdom.

He is happily married to Mrs Flora Taiwo Uruejoma-Akinboro, and their marriage is blessed with three children: Tiwatayo Ademola Akinboro, Arolake Ajoke Akinboro, and Adedolapo Akintunde Akinboro. His hobbies include travelling, reading, sports, intellectual discussions, and research.
