Amanda Justina Ego Demechi Asagba LL.B, B.L, M.I.L.D, M.Div, ACILR, SCMA, FICMC, she is a distinguished legal practitioner, human rights advocate, gender researcher, mediator, author, arbitrator, private prosecutor, notary public and the president of the African Women Lawyers Association worldwide.

She is the immediate past third vice president of the Nigerian Bar Association and founder of the Legal Pool for Justice and Equity Initiative, with an extensive record of service in the NBA, FIDA African Bar Association and other international bodies.

A seasoned lawyer with decades of experience in top law firms, mediation centres and advocacy platforms, she is renowned for her groundbreaking contributions to human rights, gender equality and access to justice. She is also an award-winning author of impactful works addressing gender-based violence and child protection.

At the NBA Annual General Conference, she will speak on the topic ‘Nigerian Bar Association: a peep into the future’, focusing on fair remuneration structures and the role of mandatory continuing legal education in enhancing competence, adaptability and global competitiveness among Nigerian lawyers.
