The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) wishes to notify members that the Body of Benchers, through its Secretary, Daniel M. Tela, Esq., has transmitted the Direction of the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) in respect of the following matters:
1. Emmanuel Oyedele Oyekunle v. Michael Olalekan Olawoyin, Esq. (BB/LPDC/461/2021)
On January 20, 2025, the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) directed that Michael Olalekan Olawoyin, Esq. be suspended from legal practice for five years, refund the sum due to the complainant within 30 days, and that the direction be published in The Punch Newspaper and the Federal Gazette.

2. Uche C. Joseph Njoku v. Prince Onwenieke Williams-Joel, Esq. (BB/LPDC/390/2020)
On November 25, 2024, the LPDC ordered that Prince Onwenieke Williams-Joel, Esq. be suspended from practice for two years, refund ₦4.5 million to the complainant, and that notice of the direction be served on all relevant legal and judicial authorities in Nigeria.

3. Monday Omon Ojo v. Edward Oseghale, Esq. (BB/LPDC/295/2020)
On May 8, 2023, the LPDC directed that Edward Oseghale, Esq. be suspended from legal practice for two years and refund the total sum collected from the complainant, with the decision duly published and circulated.

4. Oghene Pela v. Mike Patrick Adinye, Esq. (BB/LPDC/356/2020)
On December 19, 2024, the Committee ordered that Mike Patrick Adinye, Esq. be suspended from practice for three years, and that the direction be published and communicated to all courts and bodies concerned with the admission of legal practitioners.

5. Capt. Dada Olaniyi Labinjo v. Jonathan Chinedu Nwagwu, Esq. (BB/LPDC/360/2020)
On April 24, 2024, the LPDC directed that Jonathan Chinedu Nwagwu, Esq. be suspended from legal practice for three years, refund the sum of ₦2.45 million to the complainant, and that the direction be published and circulated nationwide.

6. BB/LPDC/290/2020 – Peter Okoye Nwankwo v. Cyprian Obinyi Agwuna, Esq.
On February 20, 2024, the LPDC directed that Cyprian Obiora Ifeanyi Agwuna, Esq. be suspended from legal practice for two years after finding him guilty of infamous conduct for using insulting and disrespectful language against a magistrate in Anambra State.
