The Nigerian Bar Association wishes to formally notify all Chairmen of branches within the Eastern Zone of an important compliance requirement regarding branch meeting attendance records and the forthcoming branch election.
In line with the NBA amended Constitution and in furtherance of transparency, accountability, and proper documentation within the Association, all branches are hereby directed to submit a comprehensive list of attendance for at least six (6) consecutive branch meetings.
This submission must be made on or before the 15th day of May, 2026.
The attendance record should clearly reflect:
*Dates of meetings
*Names of members present
*Any other relevant details that authenticate proper convening of meetings
All submissions are to be forwarded to the office of the 1st Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association via the designated email address: sabastineanyia@gmail.com
It is important to emphasize that compliance with this directive is mandatory. Consequently, no branch election will be recognised or accepted by the NBA where the required attendance records have not been duly submitted within the stipulated timeline.
Chairmen are therefore urged to treat this directive with utmost urgency and seriousness, and to ensure prompt compliance.
For the avoidance of doubt, failure to submit the required attendance records will result in the disqualification of any branch election conducted in default of this directive.
