As part of activities preceding the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting scheduled to hold on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Awka, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, led a delegation of the Association on a courtesy visit to the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Anambra State, Mr. Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN.
The visit formed part of the NBA’s ongoing engagement with key stakeholders in the justice sector aimed at strengthening institutional relationships and fostering collaboration in the administration of justice.
During the meeting, discussions focused on deepening cooperation between the Bar and the Ministry of Justice, advancing justice sector reforms, and reinforcing the shared commitment of both institutions to the promotion of the rule of law and efficient justice delivery in Anambra State and across Nigeria.
Speaking during the visit, the NBA President emphasized the importance of sustained synergy between the Bar and government institutions in driving reforms that would enhance public confidence in the justice system and improve access to justice for citizens.
The delegation was warmly received by the Attorney-General, Mr. Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN, who reaffirmed the commitment of the Anambra State Ministry of Justice to upholding legal professionalism, strengthening the justice system, and supporting initiatives that advance the administration of justice.
The NBA President expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded the delegation and commended the Attorney-General for his dedication to legal excellence and progressive justice administration.
The courtesy visit is one of several activities lined up ahead of the NBA NEC Meeting in Awka, which is expected to bring together leaders of the Bar from across the country to deliberate on issues affecting the legal profession and national development.
