The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) is pleased to announce the forthcoming NBA Western Zone Human Rights Summit 2026, scheduled to hold from the 13th to 16th May, 2026, at the Ceremonial Hall of the High Court, Benin City, Edo State.
The Summit, convened under the leadership of the NBA 2nd Vice President, Mrs. Bolatunmi Animashaun, represents a significant platform for robust conversations on human rights, justice administration, migration concerns, and the protection of constitutional freedoms within our society.

This year’s Summit will bring together distinguished jurists, lawmakers, legal practitioners, policymakers, and stakeholders committed to advancing human rights and strengthening democratic values in Nigeria.
The theme of the summit is ACCESS TO JUSTICE FOR WOMEN, CHILDREN, VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND PERSONS LIVING WITH DISABILITIES
Among the notable personalities expected at the Summit are Honourable Justice Maureen Ojo of the Edo State Judiciary, who will serve as a Speaker; Honourable Maria Edeko, Member of the Edo State House of Assembly, who will deliver the Keynote Address; and Honourable Lucky Agazuma, Director-General of the Edo State Migration Agency, who will also speak at the event.
We particularly commend the Chairman of the NBA Benin Branch, Idemudia Iradia Osifo, Esq., Edo Vice Chairmen and the entire planning team for their commitment and efforts toward hosting what promises to be an engaging and impactful Summit.
We therefore encourage members of the Bar, civil society organisations, students, and the general public to participate actively in the Summit and contribute to the collective pursuit of justice, equity, and human dignity.
