Is the Legal Profession Ready to Lead the Reform Nigeria Desperately Needs?

That question will take centre stage as the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Gombe Branch prepares to host its much-anticipated 2026 Law Week,

With the theme, “Strengthening Justice Through Reforms: Lawyers as Agents of Change,” this year’s Law Week is already generating significant attention within and outside the legal community.

Leading the charge is Alhassan Mu’azu, Esq., Chairman of the NBA Gombe Branch, who will serve as host of the prestigious event scheduled to hold from 12th – 19th June 2026, with major sessions slated for 16th June 2026 at the ICC Auditorium, Gombe.

Under his leadership, the Branch is set to convene legal practitioners, judicial officers, academics, policymakers, and public stakeholders for a week of intellectual engagement, policy conversations, networking, and professional development.

Observers believe the 2026 edition of the Gombe Law Week comes at a critical moment when public confidence in institutions, justice delivery, and democratic accountability continues to dominate national discourse.

Members of the legal profession, public institutions, students, civil society organisations, and residents of Gombe State are specially invited to attend and participate in the impactful sessions and activities lined up for the event.

The NBA Gombe Branch says this year’s programme will not only challenge perspectives but also inspire practical reforms capable of strengthening justice administration in Nigeria.
