The leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) acknowledges that Kano has been in the news recently over the revered traditional position of the Emir of Kano.
This situation notwithstanding, the NBA wishes to state unequivocally that Kano is safe and ready to host the NBA Section on Legal Practice (SLP) conference. The NBA has received assurances from the Kano State Government and the relevant law enforcement agencies.
This was further confirmed by the Chairmen of the Kano, Ungoggo, and Dutse Branches of the NBA, Mr Sagir Sulieman Gezawa, Muhammed Jibrin, and Mustapha Kashim, respectively, several members of these Branches, and Mr Aminu Sani Gadanya, mni, the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the NBA-SLP Conference.
To this end, the NBA President, Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, OON, SAN, urges all intending conferees of the NBA-SLP Conference to continue with their plans to attend a conference that promises to be impactful and engaging.
