Yesterday, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, OON, SAN, paid a significant courtesy visit to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, regarding the NBA 2024 Annual General Conference (AGC).
This visit highlighted the collaborative efforts between the NBA and the Lagos State Government to ensure the successful hosting of the event.
Accompanying the NBA President were key figures involved in the AGC planning, including the NBA’s General Secretary, Mr. Adesina Adegbite, the Chairman of the NBA 2024 Transition Committee, Olawale Fapohunda, SAN, the Chairperson of the 2024 AGC Planning Committee, Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, and the Alternate Chair, Mrs. Amina Suleiman Kaoje.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, the 2024 AGC Planning Committee host, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the NBA. As he has always done, the Governor promised to make all the state’s facilities and agencies’ services available to ensure the security and success of the 2024 Conference.
The conference, scheduled to take place at the iconic Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos from August 23rd to 28th, 2024, is expected to draw legal professionals from across the country. The visit to Governor Sanwo-Olu underscores the importance of securing support and resources from the Lagos State Government to facilitate a smooth and impactful event.
As the AGC draws closer, the NBA leadership, in collaboration with the Lagos State Government, is focused on finalising the logistical and infrastructural arrangements required to host the conference. This visit marks a crucial step in ensuring that the AGC meets the high standards expected by participants and continues to uphold the NBA’s tradition of excellence.
