In a momentous step towards enhancing the professional capabilities of young lawyers in Nigeria, the United Bank for Africa (UBA) and the Nigerian Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Forum (NBA-YLF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

This collaboration aims to train 25 young lawyers in business recovery and insolvency practice under the auspices of the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN).

The MOU was signed at the UBA headquarters in Marina, Lagos. Alero Ladipo, the group head of marketing and corporate communications for UBA Group, represented UBA at the signing ceremony. Abdulrauf Tijjani Aboki, Chairman of the governing council, and Jibolar Salvador, Secretary of the Governing Council, were present on behalf of the Nigerian Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Forum.

The training program will equip young lawyers with the necessary skills and knowledge in business recovery and insolvency practices. This initiative is part of a broader effort to support the professional development of young legal practitioners and prepare them for specialized roles in the legal industry.

Abdulrauf Tijjani Aboki highlighted the significance of this training for young lawyers, noting that it aligns with the NBA-YLF’s mission to provide continuous professional development opportunities for its members. He also thanked UBA for their support and collaboration.
