With profound sadness, the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) announces the passing of Adesina Ogunlana, Esq., a distinguished member of the NBA and former Chairman of the Ikeja Branch.
Mr. Ogunlana, who served as Chairman of the NBA Ikeja Branch from 2016 to 2018, was instrumental in revitalising the bar during his tenure. His leadership was marked by a vigorous protest against the increase in the land use charge introduced by the Lagos State Government in 2018.
A tireless advocate and activist, Mr. Ogunlana’s commitment to justice was evident through his recent participation in the Nationwide Hunger Protest in Lagos. His work as a courtroom advocate and publisher of Squib Magazine exemplified his dedication to the rule of law, effective administration of justice, and protection of human rights.
Recently celebrating his 60th birthday, Mr Ogunlana’s passing is a monumental loss to the NBA and Nigeria. The NBA extends its deepest condolences to his immediate family, friends, and the members of the NBA Ikeja Branch during this difficult time.
