Given the significance of international law to national development, this course aims to enhance the understanding of key multilateral agreements among stakeholders in government, foreign missions, private practice, academia, and students.
The practical implementation of these agreements can drive sustainable development, particularly in foreign direct investments, regional economic integration, human rights, peace and security, climate change, environmental protection, management of new technologies, and alternative dispute resolution.
Maximizing Nigeria’s potential and influence in international law and diplomacy necessitates a new generation of professionals skilled in international law and adept at negotiating complex trade and investment agreements that foster prosperity while avoiding adverse human rights impacts. The course’s objective is to impart specialized knowledge and skills required for the practice of international law and diplomacy.
