The Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau-led Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) administration held its final Thanksgiving service as part of the 2024 Annual General Conference at the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, Lagos.
At the Cathedral Church of Christ, a heartfelt prayer was offered for the Nigerian Bar Association. The congregation lifted the association before God, asking that they continue to serve as the nation’s moral compass, unwavering in their pursuit of justice.
They prayed for God’s blessings on the ongoing conference, hoping it would be marked by unity, wisdom, and unparalleled success. The prayer also sought divine protection for all participants and strength and guidance for President YC Maikyau and the association’s leadership. May they be favoured in all their endeavours. Amen.
Reverend Canon Sunday Ogundipe presided over the service, delivering a sermon based on Psalm 102:1-2, emphasising a plea for God’s attentive mercy in times of distress.
This Thanksgiving service symbolizes the ceremonial end of Mr. Maikyau’s tenure as the 31st President of the NBA, marking a successful administration focused on innovation and strengthening the legal profession in Nigeria.
