Dame Priscilla Olabori Kuye is a notable Nigerian lawyer who served as the first and only female president of the Nigerian Bar Association from 1991 to 1992. She was born on August 18, 1940, and was knighted by Pope John Paul II in 1981.
The NBA Women Forum honoured Dame Priscilla Kuye (Life Bencher) with a courtesy visit at her Lagos residence. Dame Kuye, the esteemed former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (1991-1992), was formally invested as a Patron of the Forum by a delegation led by the Forum’s Chairperson, Mrs. Chinyere Okorocha.
Dame Kuye welcomed the delegation warmly and expressed her appreciation for the recognition. Reflecting on her tenure as the NBA’s only female president, she voiced her disappointment that no other woman has since held the position. She encouraged the Forum to strive towards electing a female NBA president in the near future.
Her extensive experience and insights are expected to be invaluable in guiding and advising the NBA Women Forum. Dame Kuye’s commitment to empowering female lawyers and gender equality aligns closely with the Forum’s mission.
