Hon. Justice Amina Adamu Augie, JSC (Rtd), prayed for the 31st President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, OON, SAN, who recognizes her as his mother, at the NBA House in Abuja. This marked a poignant moment as Justice Augie had previously prayed for President Maikyau on the eve of his swearing-in, leaving him with her blessings and a promise to return with her prayers upon his departure from office.
Justice Augie prayed and bestowed her motherly blessings upon President Maikyau. She expressed her gratitude to him for his transformational leadership and acknowledged the positive changes and advancements he has brought to the association during his tenure.
Justice Augie also took the opportunity to thank President Maikyau as he prepares to conclude his term as the 31st president of the NBA. Her visit was a testament to the mutual respect and admiration between the judiciary and the legal profession, highlighting the collaborative spirit that drives the Nigerian Bar Association forward.
The visit culminated with a one-day seminar workshop organized by the Nigerian Bar Association Women’s Forum, where Justice Augie served as the keynote speaker. In her address, she addressed indecent dressing among women and stressed the importance of professionalism and decorum within the legal community.
